NOTHING!
One of the main reasons I started the blog was to inspire lots of other people to start similar no-holds-barred blogs wherein people could rant and debate.
Power of numbers and all that.
But it became very clear that as long as I was doing it, no one else was going to bother. A few splinter sites have popped up here and there, but they all moderate their comments
I had always maintained that I would take the site down as soon as I felt like it without notice, and that’s exactly what I did.
I read on countless comments on animation blogs how "great" the Anibation Fantasy blog was, and then it ends at that. Start your own!
Obviously this is the sort of blog the industry needs, if so many artist are clamoring about it.
Of coarse this is ANIBATION FANTASY II (and we all know how good sequels can be). It's up to all of you to carry this blog and start new blogs with the similar intent.
So if you commented on the 1st Anibation Fantasy, re-comment here, like the 1st blog you will not be censored or condemned for your comments if you agree or disagree.
Remember I will take this down at any moment so take your 2nd dose of anibation fantasy, but don't expect a 3rd.

Of course, there's no real PROOF this is the original anibator, or someone clever enough to have looked up the cached posts and created a second blogspot...

What sort of incentive do we have to read this blog if it could be taken down at any moment and replaced with gay porn? I don't get it...

The problem with everyone starting a similar Blog, is that you have to surf all over god's creation trying to keep up with the latest beef.
We were just getting to the point in the conversation that might have been helpful. The people that were trashing you for bothering to complain were winding down, and the people with concrete examples of problems with the writing in animation were starting to post.
People posting more examples of bad writing would be great.
How can a writer learn what they're doing that is pure shit if we don't show them.
Take the character names and locations out and post the bones of the problems.
Let's give it a try.

I do have to disagree that we need a million different forums. We need one forum to get pissed and organized as well as our own seperate projects to spread the word. There's nothing wrong with how this is working (small steps), except that it is on blogspot and therefore is a tiny bit less credible.

I think the idea was to start whole new blogs spanning many different topics wherein people could sound off anonymously and let off some steam and maybe debate the issues without persecution.
All that anyone has done is this site re-hashing what's already been said and that other blog singing the praises of how great writers are. There's nothing new about either one.
Whoever put this site up (and I somehow doubt it's the original Anibator) should post some new topics if they want to get everyone fired up again.

Fuck you. That comment was obviously written by someone who has never had to be creative for a living. Only someone who has not the slightest idea what it is like to draw for a living would say something this ignorant. THere's a discussion there about this blog right now and Charles (the 'leader' and communist 'furvert' of the site) is saying the same old shit about how people should stop bitching and 'do something to make change' - as if having a free forum to rant and rave isn't doing something significant.
He tries to compare this site to the early days of his heavily censored, heavily monitored site wherein if you try to post anything that is contrary to HIS PERSONAL VIEWS you are booted off. Oh - and did I mention you have to pay to join their little group?
Animationnation is elitist and smug and carries the pretention that it actually does something - yet in all of its years, all it has done is create an "Academy" where students learn to draw exactly like Charles and are indoctrinated into socialism.
They've changed nothing and effected nothing. And they don't even provide the simple service of a place to go and let off steam - unlike this awesome site.
The Anibation blog is excellent.
It's funny, what did those people on AN ever do to change animation ? There are like four or five people like Greg B that post all the time ! And it is fan trivia , not industry . Animation nation should have died after Save Disney went down because there was nothing constructive there . Voice of the industry ? Crap !

I love how the dimwits at AN think that their little yearly temper tantrum (their April first 'walk out') actually has some sort of significance in the industry.
All it does is make executives say "Wow... is this really the worst they can do? Walk out for one lunch period? I guess we have nothing to worry about."
It has those executives terrified. A day of sheer panic.
I'd be willing to bet 99% of animation executives don't even know about it even though it's been going on for almost ten years.
